I recently bought an RB-800 with a one piece flange, 3-ply maple rim, maple neck (looks like a 3 piece), and maple resonator. It's finished natural (looks blonde). The Serial Number on the back of the headstock runs down the center stripe (899157). @dhergert mentioned it looks like 1968 - if others have info on these RB-800s would appreciate your comments. Have some pics on my homepage - hopefully you can see them. Thanks

That serial nominally dates to 1968. However, Gibson serials from this period are a mess, so that's only an estimate.

I would bet on it being a 1968. Later ones tended to have more plies to the neck. It has one of the rarer finishes, too. Nice.

Thanks @OldFrets and @RioStat and @El Dobro. Another quick question - does anyone know the significance of a "B37" marking that is stamped (looks like a factory stamp into the wood) on the inner portion of the rim? Appreciate any input.
