Alley Cat is a popular instrumental song made most famous by the Danish pianist and composer Bent Fabric released in 1962.Fabric (born Bent Fabricius-Bjerre) wrote the tune under the pseudonym Frank Björn.

There was a thread here on BHO some 10 years ago and MickG presented a tab (based on Bill Knopf's version), but the tab is no longer available. I first heard the Chet Atkins version in the 60's or early 70's and have almost forget the tune, but during the last year I have found myself humming the melody on several occasions, so I decided to make an own arrangement. So I have worked out a clawhammer version and a three-finger version:

janolov , your clawhammer entry in the Tab Library has files for the three-finger version. I did love this tune back in the day. Your tabs will please quite a few people.

I don't remember what version I had of this song, but way back when I was learning to play it, it was one of the most difficult I had.... almost as bad a Keith's version of Nola. I did learn it and play it, but haven't thought of it for years. Will have to dig it out and see if I can still pick it.
I wasn't aware it was new in the early '60s. I remember it from big family parties. It was one of the earliest line dances.
