Hard to believe it's been 19 years since her passing. She was a fun lady. I always enjoyed our visits when in Nashville. She never forgot a thing when it came to Earl's music. She used to tease me reminding me she was The Earl Scruggs Revue's #1 fan and I had to settle for second!

I admire her tenacious promotion of Earl, F&S, and bluegrass in general. I, of course wasn’t a fly on the wall, but from what I read I wasn’t impressed with the way she treated Bill Keith regarding the tabs he gave to Earl for the million-seller banjo instruction book. But then , maybe I’ve never heard the whole story.
Mr and Mrs Scruggs invited my family, wife and 3 young daughters, I to their home in 2001.
By brother in law had been friends with Earl and Louise for decades. He mentioned to Earl what a huge fan I was and Earl said bring them over.
I got to visit Earl at his home !
Louise could not have been more gracious. Nor could Earl for that matter.
It was a Saturday, and we stayed morning to early afternoon.
My wife and daughters had a blast with Louise. She gave a tour of their modest home (just kidding), cranked up the ice cream bar, and seemed to enjoy us being there. She was great with the kids.
Some have said, they were disappointed after meeting their heroes. That was not the case for me !

Chuck, I heard a lot of it, but at some point Bill just stopped all further information about it. I think Bill was too much of a gentleman and admired Earl too much to tell what had happened. He also probably realized that it would have stained his reputation regardless of the facts surrounding the matter. Bill was very bright!
