Gotta put banjo on hold again. Fell and tore two ligaments in my left shoulder. Will require surgery.

Well that's a damned shame... heal up fast!

Bad news Mike.
I hope they will do the surgery - my right was torn same way in 2013 and they did laparoscopic surgery - worked just fine - slow but total recovery.
I just blew out the left rotator cuff 2 months ago and they will no longer do the surgery due to my age (82).
That leaves therapy to strengthen as my only option to get the arm back up to the banjo neck.
Well, it is a blessing to live long enough to have these ailments.
Best of luck to you.

I hope you get the upper hand toot-de-sweet.

As far as shoulder surgery, I've only had relatively minor surgery on one of them .... I think that was one instance where the surgeon's rehab instructions were right up my alley: "... movement as tolerated."   Maybe you'll have similar luck (?).  Hope all goes well.

Sorry Mike. I'm 75. FWIW, as much as I enjoy attempting to play the banjo, I am making sure I have other hobbies, etc. going, that I can segway to and enjoy as my options get limited due to age.
