I have never played craps. Truth to tell, I'm not much of a casino denizen, and when I go, blackjack is the game I understand, and thus play.
I'll add that even in large casinos, there only seems to be one or two craps tables working at any point in time. It is not a game I understand. But I would note that the people around the craps table(s) seemed to be having more fun than anyone else in the room.

The only big craps game I ever played in was at a member-guest golf tournament at an exclusive country club here in the south. Each evening they would set up a craps table in one of the rooms in the lower floor and all of the rich folks would commence drinking and throwing the dice. I joined in and walked off about 2:00 in the morning with a handful of cash (about $2,000). I walked up to my room that was on the top floor of the clubhouse and woke my wife and showed her my handful of cash. The next day at the golf tournament I donated $500 back to a fund they had set up for some golf maintenance equipment. It was their money I was donating, so no big deal!
