Hey ya'll wondering if anyone has or can recommend a Teacher that I can Zoom/Stream or whatever it is called these days. I am at a Beginner/Intermediate level according to a Teacher I was driving/going to. Thanks and Happy Holidays to all.

Hi There,
I give Zoom lessons every tues, wed. and thursday if you want. Just email me and I'll tell you what to do. Go to my profile page and you can call me from there by phone if you like or email me by Google...Jack Baker   p.s. Working with a live teacher is more productive than looking at a Video in my opinion. I do it every day with good success....

Ira Gitlin teaches by computer call (Zoom? Skype?).

There are plenty of teachers in online programs you can subscribe to and take lessons at your own pace. Tony Trischka, Noam Pikelny and Alison Brown each have schools on ArtistWorks.com, where every subscription (3, 6 and 12 months) is currently 50% off. All three have curriculum for beginning and intermediate level students. Tony and Noam also have advanced material. I think Alison's curriculum doesn't yet go that far. Tony's school has been there over 10 years, so he has more content. But all three are very good teachers at the level you're interested in.

Banjo Ben Clark has his own direct subscription school. You can check out the free samples of his lessons on YouTube to see how he presents material at all levels. The sample lessons include the initial demonstration of something and sometimes a bit of explanation. But they're just teasers for the much more in-depth material for paying subscribers. His stuff looks good.

Thanks for the plug, Ken. I mostly use Google Meet, but have used Zoom, too.

Hi TikiJeff

There are several teachers on the forum that give Zoom lessons. So I am sure you will get a few responses to choose from. Before you make a final commitment you should check out Banjo Ben Clark You can sign up for a FREE silver pick membership which will allow you access to three full lessons without obligation. Try before you but so to speak.

I recommend checking into the various platforms that house bluegrass banjo lessons taught by Bill Evans.

billevansbanjo.com/instruction.php

YouTube houses some. Peghead Nation, too.

Artistworks with Tony Trishka is also very good. It's a hybrid, mostly video lessons but you also get a monthly 1-on-1 feedback session with Tony. The video lessons are very well done, much better than most. If you can't find a regular video teacher that works, it could be an option. They have their annual 50% off sale going now.

While all the video lessons recommended are good, having a weekly teacher giving feedback, in person or via Zoom or another platform, is preferable. Jack or Ira are both good options. Might depend on what times they have available and what meshes with your schedule.
