Nola is one of my favorites but those finger stretches are beyond my small hands ability. I've had to find another way to make the sound or just leave it out. I do love to listen to him pick.
Maybe it's my ears but the banjo doesn't sound quite right for his style. I think he had very specific ideas about string gauges and setup to separate the notes more. I bet a couple of weeks later, he would have dialed it in better.
