In the past I have installed vellum heads on several Banjos and always used Andy Perkins method. However, foolishly just used to consult his website and didn't copy the instructions.
As website no longer exists, wonder if anyone has a copy of his instructions they could post.
The main difference to most others was he advocated punching holes around the circumference of the vellum and threading this with a cord to use to pull the vellum when fitting.

His website changed a few times over the years. The Wayback Machine takes a snapshot of websites (usually) several times per year (not always the whole thing, often without the videos or full-size photos) over the years. If it's not on that particular date, try an archived version from an earlier/later date. I guess if I were you I'd try to remember the year I first used those instructions and set the machine for a date around then.
