Good morning.
Two below zero degF at 5 AM.
The Director of our Golden Tones choral group has canceled this afternoon's performance, because it's too cold for us Old People to be traveling to the place where we were planning to sing.
But, yesterday, when I was doing my banjo-accompanied solo, "SANTA CLAUS is COMING to TOWN", just for the fun of it, I paused and said
"There is some controversy about the next line. I think it should be He Knows With Whom You're Sleeping, but many people claim it's He SEES you when you're sleeping!"
Got a laugh from the audience.
And in the second verse, I sang about what he's bringing:
"Rooty-toot horns and rat-a-tat drums,
Mexican food, and bottles of TUMS!*
Santa Claus is coming to town!"
Another laugh.
Just spreading cheer. 'Tis the season.
