Findajo currently has a 1930s Recording King TB with a Richie Dotson walnut neck and a flathead conversion ring. These have the walnut veneer resonator- essentially the same a the Gibson style 2, gulls and wings. These usually did not have a serial number stamped into the rim, and top coordinator hole plugged. I have one of these, and it is an amazing banjo. At one point I owned two 1930/31 TB3s and the Recording King at the same time, I sold one of the threes, and cut one for a Sloan ring and installed a Frank Neat neck on it. I have a Hopkins Coversion ring, and a maple Ronnie Bales neck in the Recording King, and it is simply fabulous, I said all of this to say that The Recording King that is for sale is definitely worth considering, because it already has a neck and conversion ring in it, and you can be where you want to be with this banjo at a bargain price, considering the conversion is complete, and have a Pre War Gibson OPF banjo. I only know two other guys who have had one of these and they both spoke very highly of them. NFI, just my 2 cents.

So, allowing people tp make derogatory remarks, with the guise of being civil, is OK, and their posts can remain.. No problem. But I was just trying to help the forum as a whole by letting people know it is not acceptable to get on this forum and behave as a fox nipping at people's heels. To me, THAT is not civil. I have heard over the years for different people that they won't advertise a banjo for sale on BHO because when you do, there are always those, who probably do not know much, that enjoy trash your merchandise. But, so be it.

Don't misquote what I said. I said be civil. I didn't say it was okay to flame people if you were civil. It isn't.
If you don't like the way I moderate, take it up with me OFF the forums. In fact, please read and follow the rules and guidelines for posting on forums. Go here: https://www.banjohangout.org/forum/rules.asp and pay special attention to rules 1 and 7.

No, I don't have a problem with how you moderate. You know what your job is and how to do it. This is really the first time I have ever really tried to participate on the forum, and as I have stated, I was only trying to help by letting people know a little bit about what a mid 30s Recording King model 803 is. They are not very plentiful. I don't think I will make the mistake again of trying to be helpful on the forum again. I admit, I did flame the individual that I though was just trying to destructive to the effort I made. I guess I coiuld have been wrong to assume that inspite of the fact that the banjo was advertised as a conversion banjo, complete with a video Richie Dotson made detailing in depth the extent of the conversion that it was clear that in it's current configuration, it is not as original, that he understood what all of that meant. I thought he was just being unkind, but I was probably wrong. There is no fault to be assigned to someone who doesn't have enough knowledge about conversion banjos to understand what he read. I really do think you all do a good job here, and a lot of people have found some needed knowledge from these forums. In the unlikely event that I do ever choose to participate in the forums again, I will adhere to 1 and 7. Rules are essential and should be respected. If this post is offensive to anyone, please remove it.
