Hi Folks,

Not sure if this is the best place to post, but I'm trying to work out this cover of Tom Petty's Walls as played by Dalton Mills.

I see he has his banjo capo set at the fourth fret but the tuning must be something besides the open G? I can't get my strings to sound anything like what he's up to if I mimic his chord positions.

Here's the clip: youtube.com/watch?v=KCTViuMvSUs

Alternatively, if anyone has tab for a Scruggs Style approach, I'd be happy to butcher that instead!

Much appreciation,
Justin

I just gave it a short glance, but it sort of looks like he may be using the C, F, G chords. Try that and see if it fits.

Thanks for the prompt reply!

I did give those a go as that was my hunch as well, but the notes are far off what he's playing. I was wondering if he's using an alternate tuning of some sort. Maybe my ears are just that off...

I get closer to his notes capoing at the 2nd fret in open-G tuning.  C - Am - F - G chords for the opening.  So maybe he is tuned down?
