Depends on the person. I’d recommend not playing it for a long stretch of time in one sitting,, the focus wans and you’ll be under the law of diminishing returns. Taking breaks from it also lets your mind internalize the finger motions. (& to quote Tom E, I ask no one to agree)

Agree with the above. Some licks take longer than others. Also depends on the individual. In my opinion, it’s not really “yours” until you can insert it in a break without really thinking about it.

Part of the practice should be listening to it repeatedly.

What he said. Many times over.

Learning a lick is one thing. Using a lick is something else.

I prove that every jam.

Every new lick you absorb makes the next one easier.

I learned a few licks early on to get my fingers used to finding the strings. When I play I never think about what lick I'm playing.I think about what best will fit the moment in the music by listening to how the melody goes.

It depends on the lick. And (as usual) I agree with Old Hickory. Once you've learned a lick, you need to integrate it into your playing. Identify the places it can be used, practice getting into it from the licks/phrases/moves that precede it, and practice doing that until you're sick of it. ;^)
