I’m sorry to hear that Al. You’d think that the surgeons and the anaesthesiologists would be able to come up with a combined plan between them.
If you get completely stuck, I’m no surgeon but consider myself an enthusiastic amateur gynaecologist and I can definitely gut a deer - if you’re willing to sign a waiver, I’m sure I could help you out
My friend went in for a simple operation on his eyes to eliminate his double vision. After being sedated for about 3 minutes he was awoken. The surgeon told him that his pulse was dropping like a rock and that he wouldn't survive the several minutes required for the procedure. It is one operation where the patient must be out cold for the whole procedure. Bruce has emphysema as well as some underlying problems with diabetes. He has since gone home and lives with his double vision. He even continues to drive his car but I don't know for how long.
For my recent endoscopy/colonoscopy, I needed clearance from both my cardiologist and pulmonologist for the sedation (not full anesthesia) those procedures required. Malpractice premiums are pushed higher because of the huge costs of defending lawsuits, costs that are there even when the defense wins.

Al ..... sounds like an umbilical hernia ...... usually not dangerous, but annoying. I lived with one for about 20 or more years and really did not plan on having surgery, but when I went to the emergency room for my gall bladder, the surgeon, Dr. Jessica Gonzales, asked me if I wanted my belly button fixed at the same time. I said ok and she did an outstanding job. I am now glad I did it. Hope all works out for you.

I thought I was getting my cataracts done in October, but they found inflammation and pressure and postponed me until January.
Good luck.
Steve ..... just had one eye done this past Monday ..... you will love it. It is incredible how much difference it makes. Looking through my other eye gives everything a dingy yellow tint, but my "new" eye everything is clear and crisp and the correct color.
