Putting in spikes is not a complicated thing, though I dont really like them as opposed to tuning the banjo up. I am sure you can find information on how to do this simple tasks online. LOL, I say that when Bob Smakula HIMSELF put in spikes on the one banjo I own that has them.
I contacted Ross Nickerson, who referred me to Bill Truax. Once I saw Bill's facebook page, I realized he has been to several jams in the area and was introduced as a good banjo luthier. Bill will be out of town for a few more weeks, however.
I haven't used his services yet, but I have a new (to me) Pisgah that needs rr spikes (sheltonsuperdave, I think we have met).
