Can someone please tell me how Larry Sigmon is tuned when he plays "Baby-o" and "7 cent cotton"? New to the forum and new to playing clawhammer. Thanks in advance!!

It sounds (and looks) to me like he is in open-G tuning (gDGBD) capoed at the 3rd fret to play in the key of Bb.  5th string would be raised 3 half-steps to Bb.  You can play it in G if it suits your singing voice.

I'm pretty sure he's in open G tuning. I haven't seen Larry since I left Virginia but I remember that he mostly used open G tuning instead of Double C like a lot of people.
