I purchased an awesome 1970 Alvarez here on this site. It came with the original case. It was in desperate need of some love. I thought I would share the restoration with y’all.

I used a plastic glue because the material was rotex it’s like a vinyl. Then I wanted to use silver but jo Ann’s only had gold. It was just gold cord. I used the same glue only glued sections at a time. I used tape to hold it tight till it dried.

Looks good!
I see that you have an ad looking for tuning peg buttons. Finding original
Alvarez buttons from the 1970's could be difficult. You might look at the "Smakula
Fretted Instruments" website. Bob Smakula is a member here and this is his
shop. He lists a lot of different parts. You need to look at the shaft that the peg
goes on and see what shape the shaft is.

Yes. Just something close that will work. I don’t want to fudge what I have. If my project of inlay fails I can always put the original ones back on. I do want to build some out of amber. I picked some up the other day. Just cut and polish. Blessings all.
