The Baltimore Ravens were the Baltimore Colts
The Arizona Cardinals were the St Louis Cardinals
The Las Vegas Raiders were the Oakland Raiders
The Houston Texans were the Houston Oilers
The Washington Commanders were the Washington Redskins
I also miss when The New Orleans Pelicans were the New Orleans Jazz
The Washington Wizards were the Washington Bullets
The Cleveland Guardians were the Cleveland Indians
... and many, many more.
I guess I just long for the 'good old days' when sports were a wonderful distraction instead of an over-governed, politically charged business.
Heck, no name change, but I miss when les Habs were winning Stanley Cups.
Where's the Macon Whoopee when we need them??
My mom was a young adult during the depression, so she wasn't talking about those ^^ good ol' days, but she'd occasionally haarrumph:
"Hah! ... the good ol' days ... you can have 'em." [Financially her good ol' days came after she'd gotten her urchins out on their own and had started receiving the Old Age Pension.]
Well, it goes back farther. I remember: The Chicago Cardinals and the Baltimore Bullets, among others. The Houston Texans were a new team. The Oilers are now the Tennessee Titans. The New Orleans Jazz is now the Utah Jazz. The Pelicans have a checkered history that I won’t trace here. NFL and NBA teams have arrived, disappeared and moved for years. I remember the Boston Braves, Philadelphia athletics, the Giants and Dodgers in NYC, the Philadelphia Warriors and the St. Louis Hawks. The Houston Astros were once the Colt 45s. And so on. The moves and changes have come with the population growth and societal changes in the country. The “good old days” are long gone and as Dolly Parton noted, weren’t really so good.

Montreal Expos got me more interested in baseball ,, their games were broadcast on Canadian television. My hometown junior hockey St. Catharines TeePees (before they became the Blackhawks in 1962) had great future NHL players like Stan Mikita, Bobby Hull, Chico Maki, Moose Vasko, Phil Esposito, Pat Stapleton, Roger Crozier, Johnny McKenzie, Fred Stanfield, etc.
