Not my banjo and I have no vested interest, North of me a ways.

I have a banjo nearly identical to that one. It’s a Lyon and Healy “Star” model. Like the one on marketplace it has the neck inlays with the little red pieces, and is double spun. The main difference is that mine doesn’t have a normal tailpiece. Instead it came with 5 holes in the rim to attach the strings to. Not a very good string attachment system, so I will find a conventional tailpiece for it eventually. I put a Remo head on it with Nylgut strings, and it sounds pretty good. I paid 60 bucks for it on marketplace. It came with 2 VERY tight steel strings on it, which caused a neck bow, so I clamped it up for a week and got rid of 80% of the bow. I don’t think $600 is too far out of line for that banjo if it’s in ready to play condition. But honestly, I don’t know the actual worth of these things. I just know that it’s one of L&H’s top of the line models for that time period.
