You have to be within the years Greg was there: 1987-93. Your banjo is not close. It's my understanding people who had worked for him were still there. And to the best of my knowledge, they continued making banjos the same way that were just as good. Suppliers might have changed.
As the specific date, Greg once posted his termination letter here, but I don't remember the date.

Well, the Earl Scruggs Standard was created early in the Greg Rich Era. It came out 1989, according to the history as told by Doug Hutchens. I've misremembered it as '88.
