That would describe today's weather. At 8:30 AM we were out the door to hit the super market. The rain was pounding so hard the wipers were on warp speed and it was hard to see lines on the road. This downpour lasted till about 1:00 PM. Then the sun came out like it was the middle of June. The temperature climbed to about 60*F. I grabbed my bike and went for a 45 minute romp around the valley. While relaxing with a 3:00PM coffee I noticed trees outside leaning sideways from a wind off the ocean. We don't normally get much wind around here so this was a real oddity. The weather report at 4:00 told us to get ready for falling branches, falling trees, and downed power lines. It was now time to find the flashlights, the matches, and candles just in case. NOW at 6:20 pm.. absolutely nothing is happening. I hope it stays that way.

^^ made the supper news here in Man-ee-toe-bah, though not in much detail ... mostly noting the amount of rain.

Here in west-central MB we're still being rewarded for our good clean living.  Several degrees above average for this time of year; no snow yet.  Quite thick [ice?] fog* for a couple of days.  Still l-o-t-s of migrating geese.

*- We had a medical appointment in Brandon today, and we decided to drive down yesterday ... "just in case."    Fog wasn't as thick as pea soup** except for a stretch near Minnedosa ..... all the vehicles we could see seemed to be operated by relatively rational drivers .... followed along in file at about 60 kph thru the worst of it.... and from the lights in the rearview nobody appeared to be tailgating.

** - but thick enuff that I just had to give my  wife [born in NS] the gears about it making her homesick.  wink

November was always a stormy month around the Great Lakes where I grew up,, more so in the north though, to wit the Mighty Fitz going down on Lake Superior near The Soo. The majority of old shipwrecks were in November…. "That good ship and true was a bone to be chewedWhen the gales of November came early" - G. Lightfoot

We usually get a roller coaster effect: hot one day, cold the next, windy always.... and so on.

Supposed to be almost 80F here today, with gusty winds.

Not quite insanity, but still.

November insanity ... that would describe today's weather.  It would also describe what CBC radio says they have in  store for us "...for the entire day."  crying

After the chaos yesterday we woke up to a quiet clear day with frost on the ground. I guess summer is gone.
