** THE PISGAH FAMILY IS SAFE! Thanks for everyone's concerns and well wishes!
------------------------------------------------------------
Our community has been devastated by Tropical Storm Helene. Lives have been lost, business and homes around us destroyed, bridges/infrastructure and services nonexistent. As of now, We are on day 8 without power, internet, and basic services like mail and trash. Search and rescue are still combing the creeks and rivers around us for bodies and missing persons.
Fortunately, we have a generator to run our well pump, fridge and some lights and we were just donated a Star Link system for Wifi by the amazing Nathaniel Rateliff. Our employees are still without power and water in the city of Asheville and all of WNC are struggling to get their basic needs met. Needless to say, Pisgah Banjos and Balsam Banjo works will not be at full capacity for some time.
I have set up a Go Fund Me (https://gofund.me/5573bbeb) page to help with the on-going relief efforts that will benefit our employees needs as well as supporting our local artists and greater community. Every dollar will help as we slowly recover and build back our community. The goal is set for $10,000 however will take and distribute any amount received.
PLEASE KEEP SENDING ORDERS IN!
Once power and mail services are restored, we plan to slowly open back up. My wife Molly I plan to ship all orders that have been delayed and continue to ship any orders that we receive. Banjos, banjo parts, accessories, and anything we have in stock can and will be shipped as soon as we can. Continuing to receive orders from our online stores will be a huge help! I appreciate your patience while shipments are continued to be delayed.

Banjo production will be at a standstill until our employees have their basic needs met and all services are restored. This will probably take at least a month if not longer until all employees are back to work. Please forward this email to anyone willing to help!

Patrick - that's good to hear. I've got a client in the Asheville area that's dealing with similar stuff, and in a similar way. Good on you, and keep on keeping on!
Years ago, when Arthur Hatfield sustained severe burns in a shop accident, the Banjo Hangout got together and raised funds to help cover his expenses. I was proud to be a part of that effort, and I'm proud to be part of yours.
