Hi all,

I have an old Taylor guitar accessories bag (musiciansfriend.com/accessorie...-gear-bag) that is no longer available. I love it, but it's falling apart. I'm looking for something similar. Anyone have any ideas? It's a "gig bag" that I carry with me to all gigs that has pretty much everything I need in an emergency, i.e. extra strings, picks, straps, tools, cables, etc... having all that stuff even if it stays in the car has saved me on more than one occasion.

Does anyone have a similar bag they use? I'm looking everywhere online and the ones I see are either too big, too small, or don't have the right kinds of pockets. This Taylor bag was well thought out and was just about the right size for all the good stuff.

Any idea you have are appreciated!

Thanks!

Steve

You might take a look at Think Tank photo bags - they make nice stuff.

It looks kind of like some of the camera bags my wife has had. You might do an Amazon search for camera bags. You’ll probably see something that works.

Think Tank makes good stuff, as does Tamrac.

Steve,
Another idea for a possible source might a be a first-aid-kit (first-responder, paramedic)-type bag, often available by way of med- or first-aid suppliers ('Net should find many such sources ...). Inner organizing pockets are common and could be what you are after. Good luck!

Another thought I had - a shooting range bag. There are all different sizes with lots of pockets. Just another idea to help you find exactly the right one.

I don’t know if this would be any cheaper, but there are flight bags available that have many compartments like this one. There are some companies that sell these and they vary in price. In a search, Sporty’s will come up first and is often the spendiest. Marv Golden, Aircraft Spruce are other companies. There are also others that sell. Those are the ones we most commonly use. Flight bags will most likely have the durability that you are seeking, as they have similar things happen to them. Good luck!

I posted two that might be similar to what you are looking for. They’re at Aircraft Spruce, but you can price shop once you zero in on the make and model.

For my music related accessories and spare instrument parts I use a center opening fishing tackle box. They are available in an abundance of sizes and compartment configurations as well as hard or soft sided, and they are affordable. There are also women’s makeup cases available (a fancier version of a tackle box) that are suitable.

I actually keep my banjo accessories in the compartment if my case but I have seen these used.
