I had a relative contact me about selling her 1989 Wasburn banjo. She called it a "Washburn Master". I know (and will inform her) that decades ago Washburn was a quality banjo but since going Asian they can be iffy.
I've never heard of a "Master" model and can find nothing online about that model. Is she just confused about the model (B16, B18, etc) ?
I'm going to point her to Reverb, FB Marketplace, Craigslist.
Any info would be appreciated.
Perhaps she meant a Washburn masterclone like a B16 so I think you might be right about the confusion. A photo to confirm whether or not is has a flathead tone ring should help. Like many Asian masterclones they are fairly decent but often get over priced because people think Washburn are an actual company that makes stuff.
