Alas, we're at the other end .... NOT goin' camping.
The early part of our season was wet/cool; and we got 6 or 7 trips of 2-4 days so far, but we were hoping to make up for some of the early part with a good fall [like last year]. I was also hoping the torsion axle on the SurfSide would last that long, but oh-nay eh-way!! Got the old one off today and did a bit of reinforcement welding* .... off to Brandon tomorrow to see if the gods of camping/glamping are smiling on us.
* - how is it that a retired schmuck can see so many features (?) that that the "experts" missed [or decided against]?? [i.e. could have been designed better, without significant additional cost, weight, etc.]

After several years of taking all ELEVEN of us kids tent camping, and a one month camper bus trip through a LOT of the states, and then a few more years of tent camping with whichever kids had not grown up and left home, Dad announced
"I'm too old to want to sleep on the ground"
And he never had to again.
But when he DID it, he was GOOD at it!

Never took high school French, but somebody once explained to me that when somebody eats something that INCREASES their appetite, to the point where they could devour a horse, THAT is the origin of

My wife wanted a different camper a couple of years ago. The Aliner we had at the time developed a leak that I couldn’t find and repair. I considered buying a school bus and converting it to a camper. Decided to look for a fiberglass egg and bought this instead. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to use it in about a year.

That's pretty nice, Mark. We were looking at a camper trailer to go to bluegrass festivals but we never pulled the trigger. I needed more truck than my F-150 to pull the trailer Debbie wanted.
