Anyone know of a thumb pick where the 'pointed' part has a slight angle towards the finger board? If the pick has a slight angle that is the part that has the most contact with the strings--well it does for me.

With a pair of pliers and by dipping a plastic pick in boiling water you should be able to angle the blade of the pick anyway that you want to. Might take some practice and experimenting to get it exactly like you want it however. I used to shape picks in this way. Now I just push them on my thumb and pick away.

Heat from boiling water, yes.
Heat from candle flame, no.

Lucky for me, I was holding my pick with tweezers, NOT wearing it on my thumb, when the celluloid item went off like a road flare.

I'm guessing you're not asking about Zookies?

?????Jim Dunlop Zookies Thumbpicks / Z9002 M10/M20/M30 ?3??×2??6?????????? : UNLIMI-MUSIC?????

Fwiw, I liked ^^, except for their propensity to break, within a couple of weeks, right at the "bend" [i.e. across from the tip].

I use a 10 degree off set and it strikes just right and even. Does a good job.

To second what Mike said above. DO NOT heat picks of any kind over an open flame.

Drop in hot water, taken away from any flames.

Thumb picks, finger picks, flat picks, binding and anything celluloid will go up in an incredible flash of high temperature flames if introduced to open flames.

I use a thumb pick all the time playing guitar, I buy a larger than needed and trim it to size with nail clippers, for me this has worked for perhaps 30 years.
