Today I drove for a long way to pick up a 1983 Gold Star GF-100 Wreath for what I consider a good deal. I used to have a ‘79 GF-100, but had to sell it in a pinch a number of years ago. I’m so excited to have another vintage Gold Star! I’ve always loved the wreath inlay pattern too, so that’s a bonus! I know they didn’t make many in the years of ‘82 and ‘83, so that makes this a little rare. Thought y’all might like to see it. I need to adjust the neck and swap out the bridge, but I’m anticipating having a fine sounding banjo before too long.

i maybe a little biased cause i have a 1978 gf85 that looks like a 3 month old banjo condition wise. These old japan made banjos are a steal at the modest prices they bring compared to the tone they most usually deliver. Enjoy your new/old Goldstar ! i'am sure she's gonna be a keeper

Great find. You will enjoy it. I have 2, both are 1979 models. One wreath and one hearts and flowers. One was made made in January and the other March. Both have Rickard pegs, but I have the original pegs. And both have identical tail pieces. When set up right they sound as good as any banjo made.
