Does anyone still sell, or make, the half-moon-shaped brackets that are used to attach a wire armrest to an open- back banjo? I need the ones that mount between the bracket shoes and are held in place by the nuts as shown in the picture below. I had a couple of pairs of them, but I put them in a place where they would be easy to find. Now I can't find them.

I can post a WTB ad if necessary but I would rather find a source that keeps them in stock so I can purchase them again in the future as needed.

I got several years ago from Bob Smakula. They still appear on his web site.

Thanks, David. I checked everything I could think of on Bob's site, but I didn't find them. One problem is that I don't know what they are called.
I am hoping that someone still makes them. With the number of people who make Old Time banjos, it seems feasible that there would still be some demand for them. NOS parts are hit and miss.

Sorry I misunderstood what you were looking for, Mark. The wire armrests I got from Bob look nearly identical to the one in your photo.  I can post a photo if that would help.

I already have an armrest, but I have no way to attach it. It has posts with threaded ends and nuts like the armrest in the picture, but it was made by Elton. I need the half-moon-shaped brackets that go under the bracket shoes and are held in place by the nuts.

Hello Mark
I have a pair of those if you would like them. Two things, they are either brass finish or dull gold plate. Also, I’m in the UK but happy to send them to you if you cover the postage
costs once you receive them. PayPal would be best.

FWIW, I have made them in the past using a jeweler's saw blade in my scroll saw and sheet brass.

It was not too much trouble to make them for myself.

Hello Mark
Cannot locate your message. I’m in our local Library using Wi-Fi because it is down where I live. This is because telephone engineers changed cables in the road and everyone in the neighbourhood no longer has connection!
Best thing is for you to send me your message via email and I’ll get back to you as soon as things improve! steamboat.jazz@ gmail.com
