…within brands anyway?
If I have an OME with an 11 inch pot (one piece). Would any OME flange fit that?
I suppose the width of the heel would be one variable.

Not necessarily. I can't speak for OME banjos but there are differences in specs on Gibson and Vega banjos. I can guess that other brands are the same way. They probably used different specs at different times of production throughout their history, likely because they used different suppliers for some of their parts.
I don't know if OME produced every piece of their banjos or not. If they used hardware from multiple suppliers over the years then there is probably going to be a little variance.

Thanks. Probably not a fair question - the answer might be “it depends”. But I can always hope!

When OME went to a one piece flange they offered a choice of a Gibson style or the OME F hole style flange for a while at least.

My experience with flanges (and tone rings), is that even if it's the same brand and model, you never really know if it's going to fit until you try to put it on. Even within the same batch, flanges and rims have small variations and often require slight modification/fitting to mate them up.
