Yesterday (Aug 4, 2024) I mailed a Provisional Patent Request on a temporary attachment that improves the sound quality of apparently all musical instruments to which it is attached. When I am notified that the request is logged in, (which usually takes about a month), I will post details about why it works and post a BHO ad on how to purchase one. It works great on my Gibson Mastertone Tenor when stuck to its hoop and my violin when attached touching the edge of its high string side sound opening. It should also work on horns and plans include testing it on a trombone, harp and a piano.

Best wishes for financial success and a modest amount of fame.

Thanks, Mike. My fame record is pretty low, which is achieving the rank of "Star Scout" in the Boy Scouts. So needs a little lifting!.

I’ve gotten a few patents as an engineer, and one in particular that really took off. My advice would be to keep it under your hat until the patent is actually issued.  A provisional application once accepted offers you no protection. If someone copies your idea, you have no recourse to go after them until you actually have the patent since your idea is not yet patented. I am not a lawyer, but if you are using a patent attorney you might ask their advice.  You also might not want to market or sell the idea until the patent is issued for a number of reasons.

Is the "temporary attachment" in the OP a new one or the one that was bandied about several months (?) back?

[I tried the magnifying glass/search function in the < margin, but didn't find much.]
