Rick Avery, a transplanted Brit who was part of Mariposa in the Schools, taught me that in dropped D back in the Seventies, when he was our folksinger-in-residence at my school. It's always been fun to play - less so lately with the arthritis. I'll attempt to copy your C arrangement.
