I play Scruggs style 3 finger banjo, also finger pick guitar “ala” Earl. I can sing baritone or tenor. I’m located in the upstate of SC, willing to travel to N.C., Ga; any direction couple hours.
Your post reminds me of the famous 1950's TV show, " Have Banjo - Will Travel".
Not sure many people come here looking for banjo players.
You might try similar sites for players of other instruments, such as those listed under "More Hangouts" at the very bottom of every page here. Also Mandolin Cafe.
Maybe hes asking if theres jams he can attend? Thats asked often enough. I did see a banjo player solicit for a banjo player on here maybe a year ago because he was retiring. I dont think it was a paid position.

Looking for jams or a replacement for yourself is a good use of this space.
The language of his post suggests to me he's doing neither of those. He says he's "available" and willing to travel. I'd expect if he were looking for a jam, he'd say so.
Though I suppose he could be looking for a band-sized private playing situation that could be either jam or performance.
Either way, he's not the first person to have posted on the Hangout without saying exactly what he means.
