Hey folks,
I assume many of us are waiting for Banjo Newsletter to get back up and running with new issues. I am wondering if there is some other place for articles that folks are using? It seems like there are enough of us to sustain a magazine. I realize that BanjoHangout is a great place for discussion but it is also nice to read articles in long format sometimes and forums are a little less than ideal for that. (Also dare I say that it can be nice to have physical copies of things to read in addition to reading online). Anyway, wondering if I am the only one or if lots of us are missing a newsletter/magazine.

I am assuming the issue is how much they would have to charge to a hard copy.
Ever look at the prices of music magazines these days!!!
Twenty bucks…no thanks..
But I sure do miss my Banjo Newsletters..
Hope they do figure it out..

People are so used to getting there material online, i doubt if you will see a magazine resurgence. Daily newspapers are just a shell of what they used to be.
Banjo hangout is the well that we draw from now. I do wish that the big names in banjodom would be active members of the hangout.

The return of the BNL in hard copy would be great, or even in a downloadable PDF version.
Doubt it is going to happen.

To paraphrase Ishmael, "BNL was my Harvard and my Yale." I learned a lot from Hub's banjo brainchild, and loved reading it -- cover-to-cover -- and writing for it. But I think it's safe, and sad, to say that we will not see its like again.

I miss magazines and newspapers of all sorts just in general. I also miss solid journalism, top restaurants that delivered incredible meals and service, TV shows that were entertaining or informative and a sense that our government, or governments in general worked for, and were on the side of its people….I think I just turned into my Grandfather….

The Banjo Newsletter was wonderful. It had the best teachers and some of the greatest players writing regularly it it. It was fun, inspirational, and informative. What a work of love by the Nitchie family. I looked forward to it every month.

I also enjoyed receiving Banjo Newsletter and read most of the articles, checked out the tabs and just really looked forward to receiving it each month.

Maybe they'll get BNL up and running in some form soon.

Robert,

The Banjo Newsletter was a totally different format and subject matter than Bluegrass Today. BT is dedicated to bluegrass and Americana music news, but the BNL (https://banjonews.com/index.html) was and is dedicated to the banjo. As you see, you can still access some stuff on line.

I was told that they would be opening the BNL store soon. I hope that is a harbinger of things to come.
