I just want to clarify that, I already used the Titebond for the repair.
I am ordering hot hide glue for any future repairs or work I will do, but for now, the Titebond seems to be holding that rim pretty well

No matter which type of glue you use ( I like Titebond) I suggest up get to know some of your local medical people and get some syringes to 'inject' the glue into a joint. You can use them to force the glue deep into a joint. You only need the syringe not the needle Alternatively you can get plastic squeeze bottles that have needles about the size of what you use to inflate sports balls. You can get a bag of these bottles at your local hobby or craft store.

I like titebond because it has a long pot/working life and shelf life and is water soluble so you can clean up.

Thank you Glen, I have a friend that is a nurse. I will ask about syringes.
Hopefully that isn’t too awkward of a conversation….. haha.
I used a banjo string to push the glue down in the crack, but I think the injection is a far better idea.
I do like that the Titebond has more wiggle room, time wise. And easy clean up. I don’t work well under pressure and I could see that hot hide glue turning into a disaster for me.
I am still going to order it and practice with it a little before I undertake my next repair job

I just wanted to update. It’s been two and a half weeks and the repair is still holding strong.
On a side note, I put a Sullivan BB conversion ring in it a couple days ago and it sounds absolutely amazing. That ring made an already great sounding banjo sound even better!

With any luck, it'll hold for the long haul.
Glad you're happy with the banjo.

One quick question: did you use a strap clamp or C-style clamps?
Just curious
