I have been out of touch with the banjo market for several years due to health reasons but am finishing up several vega 5 string conversion necks . Question is what does a vega conversion neck sell for these days? I have been selling off parts and some tenor banjos . I may just sell off the conversion necks without pots or is it worth it to finish them up for resale? Thoughts ? Im just starting to finish them up .

Glad to see you back on the BHO, Gary! And I hope your health issues are behind you. The two necks you built for me, tho now mated to different pots, are still giving good service, and are still much appreciated.

Not sure which option you list would be best, re the necks you’re now completing. But you might check Mark Hickler’s and Zach Hoyt’s websites for ideas about replacement neck prices. I think they both provide that service. (All the best, whatever you decide.)

I'm not sure what a Vega conversion neck sells for these days but I can tell you that a neck from Goldtone, including fitting to a pot with a dowel stick, will run about $800. I would assume a hand-built Vega specific neck would go for more than that. In any case, please let me know what you decide to do, I'm in the market for a neck for a Little Wonder pot.

I am building a little wonder pot as we speak and have 3 in progress they will be standard Vega style , also hav a little wonder /A scale neck waiting for a pot . Will post pictures when completed . Also have one I was going to mate to an orphium but have sold the pot and haven’t cut the peghead out yet so it could be anything . It has the orphium 2 stringer style laminations . All are slightly wider 1 e3/8 nut and 2 inch wide
