Hi everyone! Hope You’re all doing well this morning/afternoon/evening/night. I recently began tabbing oak & ash & thorn by the longest johns, and I know that it’s clawhammer. So far, with the intro, I was able to tag and play it with relative ease, but it sounds bland without the percussive thump of clawhammer not to mention the rest of the song is more standard strummy clawhammer, so what can I do? Should I just strum the chords for the rest and suck it up with the intro? What do you guys think?

Not a clawhammer player.
Just trying to be helpful.

If I understand the question, you are looking for melody notes.
And it LOOKS LIKE you've already tried picking the melody, one note at a time, to find out where each one IS.

And I can't think of any other way to find 'em.

Like one of my high school teachers said about her typing skills:
"I use the COLUMBUS method... Search, discover, and LAND!"

That's fair haha, I guess a better way to put it is how could I find out which ones are important and which can be instead filled in with drones haha, but thank you for the reply, you got a good chuckle out of me
