Going to Boston the 11th and 12th for a consult with my surgeon and upcoming cataract surgery.
A bit more complicated as my left eye doesn't blink or water and is sewn about 70% shut.
That eye has good vision and can be used, but not left open without damaging the cornea (too dry).
Surgery will undo that sewing and both eyes will get cat treatment.
It will then be resewn for intermittent use when stereo vision is necessary for a short amount of time.
Cornea isn't wearing away since the shutting of the left eye.

I hope the actual operation will happen this summer.

Best wishes for a successful outcome, Steve.
Some years ago I had both eyes done, without, of course, the complicating issues you describe; the improvement was truly amazing.
I guess you could say this kind of thing is the price we pay for the privilege of living long enough to be old!

Definitely wish you a quick, uneventful and successful surgery.

I had both eyes done (not at the same time) back in '15 and the worst part was the not knowing exactly what to expect and then putting those drops in the eye every 4 hours. Luckily, Dave was still alive and could help me with that.

I had it done on my R eye back in November. Wasn't bad at all. Instant restored vision was so nice.

I'm doing 14 drops a day from 4 bottles. It would be nice to lose some of those.

The drops after the procedure will carry on for 3 weeks. I had my left eye done 1 month ago yesterday. Its now healing well so now I'm eager to get the right eye done. No pain guaranteed. A drop or 2 of magic stuff is put into the eye. You see a bunch of weird colors and shapes as the doctor works away. In most cases the whole thing is done in about 17 minutes. Mine was a weird case of pressure building up inside the eye so he had to send me home for 4 days before installing the new lens.. Be patient afterwards. Things can look weird for a few days but I was o.k. to drive at 3 days,

Good to hear things are working out for you.

"A drop or 2 of magic stuff.... " reminds me of earlier this year when I was preparing for a re-do of some elbow surgery.  I had made sure the anesthetist was aware that during the latter part of the first operation I'd experienced mucho pain.  He said he'd keep tabs on it and IF I felt anything to just let them know and, "We can give you something to make you real happy, real quick."

My eye pressures were in the mid 20s 3 years ago..We've worked that down to under 10 as of my last visit.Doc said how, with all the modern medical breakthroughs, eye drops are still a preferred cure for many eye issues.
