Does anyone know how I might contact Paul Silvius? I have read all the archived posts about him here on the Hangout and checked FB with no luck. I'm trying to contact him for an interview. He was/is a great player!
Thanks,
John Lewis

Man, you're not kidding. His playing on Del McCoury and the Dixie Pals' "Sawmill" album is top tier. Good stuff on the Joe Val records, too, but Sawmill was the first one that turned my head around.

I heard he went into furniture making up in New England, but I'm not sure. Also that he wasn't playing because of arthritis or some such thing. Does anyone have more info about those things?

No kidding either, here...

A few days ago on the Fiddle Hangout the name Jon Glik showed up and I responded that I saw this guy years ago when he played some gigs in the Netherlands way back in 1984 or so.

In the band of... Del McCoury.

Banjoplayer was Paul Silvius, so that makes the circle round again....

I keep in "some" touch with Boston area pickers. I haven't heard ONE WORD about Paul Silvius since the last time someone asked about him here on BHO.
