I am looking for banjo parts to build a long neck and i don’t know where to start and where to find these pieces. I was hoping that someone could help me by sending links to banjo parts seller and tell me which one i should buy :)

Welcome to the Hangout.

Do you intend to "build" any of the components from scratch -- such as the neck starting from a billet of wood? Installing the truss rod? Profiling, slotting, inlaying and fretting the fingerboard? Drilling holes around the wood rim for the shoes?

Or do you want to gather parts ready to assemble?

What about stain and finish? Will you do that yourself or do you want all pieces ready to go?

Tone ring? What type? None?

Be aware that the heel of a neck will still need bolts installed to match the holes in your rim so the neck can be assembled to it. The heel might need cutting to produce the right neck angle.

Gold Tone has become a good source for ready-to-use wood parts (necks and rims) at low prices. I'd be inclined to skip their hardware and go with a supplier of US-threaded parts, such as Sullivan banjo, Balsam Banjo works, and Smakula.com.  You'd have to inquire of Stew-Mac and Elderly as to whether their parts are US-threaded or metric.

Bill Rickard is there in Canada, and is a good supplier of parts.

Elderly in E Lansing Michigan used to sell rims and metal parts for open back banjos. Not long necks though as far as I remember.
