I have what I think is a 1928 GB1 with a 5 string neck. The FON number is 8954-8. I purchased it about 6 years ago from a guy in Hamilton, Ohio. Just curious if anyone has any information on this banjo.
Thanks

Banophiles has that exact fon listed as GB-1 reported at fullers guitar in 2009. It looks like its got a new neck and tailpiece since then but probably everything else is original.

its possible Fullers would have a record https://www.fullersguitar.com/

Looks like a somewhat modern Gibson guitar peghead logo ?

Thanks for the replies. It had an old presto tailpiece on it when I got it that broke shortly there after and I replaced it with a Prucha presto I had. The last digit looks like it might be an eight, but could very well be a 3. It does look like a modern Gibson guitar logo on the peghead. I'll check with Fullers.

the neck looks like someone got a cheap neck from stew mac or saga and put a gibson guitar logo on it. I wouldnt worry yourself too much about the neck, its nothing special.

The neck is a Saga kit neck. Someone added the logo and the keystone inlay, or sticker, whichever it is. Both the keystone and the guitar logo can be found on eBay.
