A music store that I do repairs and restorations for has given me 5 banjo resonators that have been removed over time when the banjos were sold. These banjos were purchased by customers who wanted open back banjo for learning on. All were Asian made.
In time many of the attachments hardware had been lost. When I picked this last one up I immediately noticed a difference in as much as it was heavier and much more solid. It even has tortoiseshell binding under the finish. What was strange about this was the threaded insert for the thumbscrews turned out to be 3/6" BSW and not metric as first thought. I have never seen before. Any thoughts?
