I moved this question from another topic. While we eat mostly at home, dining out ranges from bar food, to drive/throughs, and sometimes a fine meal at a “nice” restaurant. My poll/question is:
What does a steak dinner cost in your area?
Curiosity Poll:
What would the menu price of this dinner cost you, in your town, at a decent (tablecloth) restaurant?
"12 oz prime/choice ribeye steak, potato, and a green vegetable, with a house salad"
(not including any: appetizer, dessert, drink, bread, tip, tax, etc)

Around here, about 40.00-50.00 at a decent restaurant, higher at a top-shelf, more foo-foo/classy highest end establishment-only a few of these in town.

I spent $250 for me and a date in Nashville a few weeks back. That said, a bar I play cards at has a nice ribeye on Tuesdays for $22 which seems super reasonable these days.

Similar here I think, but I haven’t looked at steaks on a menu in years. I tend to order stuff I don’t cook on my own.

The place we go a couple times a year, their steaks go from $45 to $68. That doesn't include anything but the steak. I'll usually get an old fashioned, wife doesn't drink. With tip our dinner will run around $250. But on her birthday dessert was free!

Bill, exactly.  I trust my steak cook, and rarely know what I am getting out.  So, when dining out I am likely to order weird dishes.  Brad

$38.00 to $54.00 depending on the cut here in the U.P. at a very nice place overlooking Lake Michigan. I also don’t order a steak out other than prime rib which I WILL NOT make at home!!! We rarely eat out and if we do, it’s carry out pizza or Culver’s. Not many restaurants in our area that are worthy!!!

We are vacationing right now on Grand Cayman island and had a wonderful 4-coarse dinner at a beautiful restaurant Oceanside seating and it was very reasonable OMO.
Started with a appetizer plate of coconut shrimp, conch fritter and yellowfin ceviche shooter. A carprese salad skewer, followed my main coarse of fresh grilled fish of your choice, or steak and shrimp skewer, or other choices. I had grilled wahoo and shrimp over wasabi mashed potatoes and baby boc choy plated beautifully!!!
Dessert of your choice . I had Sticky toffee pudding (amazing) and it also included a beer of choice or glass of wine of choice.
All that for $49.00 per person. Food was amazing and service was impeccable!!!
Only bad thing is add another 25 % to the bill for exchange rate. With tip, the total was $160.00. Considering the setting and food quality it was IMO a great value.
On top of it all, there was an older gentleman walking around with a harp that could play any song requested and would put all of us banjo players to shame. I requested the Theme from The Godfather and it sounded better than I’ve ever heard. Talk about magic fingers!!!
Slammer!!!
