After the slow reaction to my statement concern the Bacon Banjo group I wonder if this is of interest
in the 70ties I made an X-ray of my Bacon plectrum neck

How old is your banjo? This is the first I ever heard of a Bacon banjo having a rod in the neck.

My late 20’s B&D silver bell #3 has a metal reinforcement in the neck. Note that they are not adjustable.

Some Bacons had reinforced necks; others did not.
