I’m curious why we never see any 2010-2020 stellings?

People are probably playing them. With production over, players who bought them aren’t rushing to sell them. Nor were they made in great numbers. I suspect a number have changed hands privately.

There have been some on Reverb.

They tend to move quite fast after they've been listed. But don't expect to get one for a song. Most sell for upwards of $4000!

Furthermore, many Stelling owners are fiercely loyal to their brand/instrument.
It is not uncommon for Stellings to stay in the family or be sold to good friends or acquaintances. Many of those banjos never make it to consignment or being listed on Banjo Hangout. There always seems to be a potential Stelling buyer waiting in the wings!

I see them pop up from time to time. There were a lot of Stellings made considering the company size. Hit 7000 by 2016. More piled on after.

Most of the ones I see are not on the internet.

You might check with Geoff Hohwald at Banjo Warehouse. He might have one. He typically has a lot of different brands.

What the OP observes is quite noticeable, though. I see it more as, the Tony Pass thinskirt Stellings do seem outnumbered in used listings compared to those with prior rim configurations. Even if you narrow it to just the decade since 2010, even at that Stellings were going into stock at several dealers year by year almost to the end, and were also being ordered direct. Not by the hundreds, but an array of models were being produced.

People are holding onto these banjos, plain and simple.
