Would love to see a tab of the banjo break for this.

Thank you,

I'm pretty sure they are playing in Eb and Noam is tuned low a la John Hartford, but can't help with the rest. Quite the fingerboard acrobatics in that break.

Have you ever transcribed anything for yourself?

No? This is a short enough solo that it seems like a great time to teach yourself how to do it.

Jim just gave a hint to the tuning. You could try that to see if it makes sense. Noodle around, trial-and-error, to work out the chords. Then see if you can find the positions for the beginnings and endings of various measures or phrases. Then start listening in headphones using YouTube's slow-down feature (click the gear icon at lower right of playback window). Write down the tab as you go.

Good luck.

Noam is the most tasteful and skilled banjo player of our time in my opinion. My favorite to listen to anyway. Mighty Poplar is a great combo of musicians and I hope there will be more albums coming.
