From their Rubber Soul album,, Paul got the idea for the intro from Chet Atkins’ “Trambone” with moving bass below a repeated note. This arrangement is by BHO member Fred Sokolow.

"Michelle" was one of the tunes that got me into rock music after years of listening to classical.

Thank you,, & nice move, Paul,, & you know, that transition wouldn’t be too difficult with a tune like Michelle which employs some sophisticated counterpoint. I always figured George Martin had his hand in a lot of their songs.
