Went last night to see the final tour of the Oakridge Boys.

First thing I'll say: it was LOUD!!! Forgot my ear plugs and thought I'd go deaf before they quit.

Other than the LOUDNESS, it was a great concert. They sang all the songs we've come to listen to and love to hear. I don't care for electric guitar picking usually, but the guitar guy could really pick some good breaks. The fiddle player wasn't bad, either. The drummer was wayyyyy too loud and between him and the guitars, often drowned out the singers. That part I didn't care for.

We were on the second tier (floor) and so far away that the band looked like little tiny men but the volume made up for the fact you couldn't really see much from that far away.

They played straight through for an hour and a half. That's a lot of music and must have taken a lot out of that group of oldsters. There was one new member who sang the high tenor part and he was only 28.... the youngest of the entire band.

Hate to see them retire, but am happy for them that they will now be able to stay home and hopefully enjoy the rest of their lives.
