I had an issue last year with Deering. I called and the lady who answered the phone was extremely nice. I told her my issue and that I was directed to call by my repairman. She gave me the email to use. I emailed the head of the repair department. I waited about two weeks and received no response. I called back a couple of times and emailed again. I never received a response. my question is whether or not this is normal from Deering. I called there years ago and it was not like that.

I can’t speak as to your issue directly.

I do know that Janet Deering is a member here on the hangout, and it looks like she was last active on Wednesday.

You could try sending her a message regarding the issue.

Unusual. They are typically very responsive even to folks who did not buy new or from them. I had a Standard where the finish came off the neck. I was the original owner. Janet Deering offered to have it repaired. I explained that I didn't think it was a defect and that it was a reaction to bug spray that I was using. She still offered to fix it. That's great service. (I ended up keeping it and unwittingly invented the speed neck :-) ). She will respond if you reach out.

I had a similar experience a few years ago with them. I did end up figuring out my issue on my own but I never did get a response. Kinda forgot about it til I saw your post.

I can only guess that Sam was overloaded and somehow overlooked your email. He is split between doing repairs and helping assemble our high end banjos. Send it again today and I will put a bug in his ear to check his repair emails. Sorry for the delay in getting an answer.

The issue has been resolved. I no longer have the email address. Randy Wood Guitars did the repair. He was the one that suggested I reach out to Deering. I knew that it was not covered by warranty. I just didn't know if I should send it there for repair. Randy Wood holds you and Greg in very high regard. It is just an old 2000 Sierra. However, it is the best banjo I have ever owned. There is more to the story. I included it in the email. Sentimental situation.
