OK, so Banjo hangout has been around a long time. There are tons of tabs in all styles. One problem I run into all the time is that this site doesn't offer a style for two finger picking other than Clawhammer/Old Time. There's every other picking style available, but not two finger. That means to make two finger tabs findable the poster has to put 2 finger, 2F or whatever into the title of the tab so that people can find it. Why can we just have a style to identify the tabs like everyone else? I have made several hundred tabs in TablEdit of two finger picking. But I'm not going to every upload if to make them findable I have to put 2 finger in the title of every tab. Why can't we have a two finger style for tabs? Right now there is no way to find 2 finger tabs unless it's in the title. Otherwise you have to go to a person's profile and dig through all there tabs to find two finger ones.

In a way I agree, but you have to think it through a little better:

  1. 2-finger can be both index lead and thumb lead. And index lead tabs are more or less the same as clawhammer tab: most clawhammer tabs can be played bi 2F index lead, and vice versa.
  2. I have posted some 2-finger thumb lead tabs, and I have tried to put "thumb lead" in the title, so it can be easy to find them. I think that is the best method to tag the tab.
  3. I have also posted some combined tabs where both clawhammer and thumb lead tabs are shown in the same file. How shall those be classified?

I share some of your frustration when looking for thumb lead. As mentioned above, not so much of a problem for index lead, but as ch and index lead are directly interpretable, why not have a 2ftl category to itself?

Regardless of whether a tab is two finger thumb lead or two finger index lead, or whether index lead works sort of like clawhammer, there is no way currently other than the title to indicate the style. Most two finger pickers and alternate between index or thumb. At lead it do. It would be nice to include the style. It's been around as long as there have been banjos. Even Dan Emmet mentioned how he was at first surprised to find an African American playing two finger in double C tuning in the street. Later, after some research, he mentioned that the style was common among slaves on plantations. So, why can't we have a style here that we can use to indicate what our tabs are??? And, I am not knocking this site. It's a wonderful resource for all banjo players. Just currently it is not fully including two finger pickers.
