Dammit Liz!!! Elevate it and ice it and if it’s not gettin better, better get it checked.
Hope your OK and heal up quick. Falling in the mud……….I always assumed you were a dirty girl !!! LOL
Fig, ya better go easy on her for a while. This gettin older ain’t for sissies!!! Ever notice, the older ya get , the more afraid of falling ya get!!! Take care you two!!!

Heal quick Liz [but not too quick. I expect you'll want to give careful consideration to any temporary shift in the division of labor wink ]

Just the other day I was wandering around a store while my wife and daughter did some shopping.  I came across a watch (?) ... one of the features being flogged was that it had a "fall alert."  I mentioned to our daughter that if I'd fallen, I might already be aware of the fact. Being a pretty sharp cookie, she was able to "explain it" to me.  yes

I hope Liz gets well soon and I'll echo others: if it doesn't get better quickly, go to your doctor, it might be something worse than just a strain or sprain.

Yes, when you get to the senior citizen age, falls can be dangerous.

Use of a walking pole can be a good idea to have, don't need to be aged or have a disability is maybe a comfort and a supporter?
Be well.

My best to Liz. My sister had a bad fall a month or so ago and still feels the effects. Growing old is not for sissies.

Best wishes for Liz's ankle to get better. Sometimes sprained ankles are not as bad as first seemed ...... hopefully true with Liz's!

Being a fly fisherman involves wading in (mostly cold) water, at times fast moving deep, cold water. Lose your footing on the slippery rocky river bottom, & you find yourself being swept down river, out of control, in that cold water. BTDT One unwanted trip like that is all it takes to abandon ego & invest in a good wading staff. We're not talking make do with wimpy ski or trekking poles, or those foldable wading staffs found in fly shops. No way, Jose. BTDT too. You want a staff offering confidence! Something capable of supporting your full body weight, without flexing, when standing on one foot while moving your other foot to solid ground. Even if it means cutting your own from a live tree. Cut it almost shoulder height. Put a rubber crutch foot on it & decorate it to suit. smiley Your body will thank you.
