Any body have chord progression for Crossing the Cumberlands for guitar in key of G? Trying to play my own backing track tp play banjo over. Everything I find is in Gm.

More-or-less from a position of ignorance, can a diagram of the "Circle of 5ths." be used to transpose (?) it?   ... or does it get screwed up* by  things like minors, 7ths., augmented [and other things I'm even more ignorant of]?

Like most bluegrass instrumentals--especially fiddle tunes--"Crossing the Cumberlands" has a standard key that it's always done in, and that key is G-minor.

But, as mmuussiiccaall notes, you can play the progression in E-minor, and then (though he didn't say it outright) capo up three frets to put it into G-minor.

On banjo, though, you'll probably want to play it uncapo'd.
